A study on Comparing the Emotional Regulation and Self Efficacy in Labor and Normal Children

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to determine the amount of emotional regulation and self-efficacy between labor and normal children. The research method was descriptive and post event. The statistical population included the total number of labor children aged 12 -18 years in Tehran – Shousha region in 2019. Using available sampling method, 100 children (50 labor and 50 normal children) were selected. The research tools included the emotion regulation questionnaire (Gross and John, 2003) and the self-efficacy questionnaire for children (Murris, 2002). The acquired data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and one – way variance. For data analysis, the statistical software of SPSS version 26 was utilized. The significance level was estimated as 0.05. The results demonstrate that the working children had lower scores than normal children in regulating emotion with its various dimensions (emotional inhibition and cognitive reassessment) and had lower scores in self – efficacy with its various dimensions (educational, social and emotional) and the difference between the two groups was significant. (P< 0.05).
