Citizens in all societies have duties and rights that should be performed and respected by the members of those societies and the government. Ensuring the observance of these rights is among the most important missions of the governments, and while identifying these rights it must utilize efficient and transparent laws, and guarantee taking measures to prevent and protect them in case of violation and non-observance of the rights. Chief among these rights is the financial right, so the present article aims at investigating the role of the government in providing financial security to citizens.
The research is of descriptive-analytical type and the method of gathering information in this research is documentary-jurisprudential analysis.
The findings of this study indicate that although it may seem that the government is looking for its own interests, ignoring and weakening this right leads to insecurity, corruption and many crimes and social problems. The result achieved from the article shows that in the Iranian law, the legislator, while being inspired by Islamic and jurisprudential rules and protecting financial rights, enjoys a high position in it. However, while recognizing this right in the constitution and related laws, the legislator has not been able to fully ensure their observance for the citizens .In addition, giving preference to public interests, imposes many duties and restrictions on the citizens’ individual rights.
