The role of joining the Paris Environmental Treaty in securing the interests and expansion of Iran's relations in the international arena

The Paris Environmental Treaty was adopted in 2015 as a strategic document aimed at guiding the world's environmental policy. This agreement has been developed with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and to achieve this goal, by choosing a bottom-up structure, it has provided the parties with the opportunity to determine the limits of their obligations to reduce emissions according to their capacity and power. . Under the treaty, each state is required to implement its national partnership program, which includes actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change, in accordance with the Framework Convention and other relevant instruments. Obviously, in this case, the accession of developing countries such as Iran, which have a small share in the production of these gases, will only impose requirements and restrictions on the country that will ultimately jeopardize the country's industrial and economic development; Disclosure of information about key industries in the country is another risk of joining this agreement. In order to accede to the Paris Agreement, it is necessary for Iran to take appropriate measures in order to achieve the goals and tasks set forth in the treaty and the National Partnership Program, in addition to benefiting from the international cooperation contained in the agreement.
