The effect of foreign policy on Iran's regional position (2001-2018)

In the early years of the 21st century, the Middle East has undergone various changes, such as 9/11, the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, the Arab revolutions, and the presence of ISIS. These developments have a profound effect on Iran's regional position and, consequently, its foreign policy.In order to study Iran's foreign policy and with the aim of examining Iran's regional position from2001 to 2018,using neo-realist theory,we seek to answer the question that what is the role of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in its regional position? The hypothesis raised in response to this question is that the ideological and ideological foreign policy of Shiite Islam in order to export the revolution of the Islamic Republic of Iran creates the ground for widespread conflicts with major regional and trans-regional actors and leads to the success of the Iranophobia project.It has been eroded by the enemies and has created the ground for the erosion of Iran's power in the economic, military and political fields. There have been numerous limitations, such as not being present in all countries in the region, lack of access to first-hand and confidential information, and time constraints on obtaining research results. The results of this article are necessary because the ideological foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has caused identity conflicts with countries in the region(Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Israel)and trans-regional countries(US)and this situation has a direct impact on the erosion of Iranian power in the military, economic and political issues.
