Pathology of critical thinking training in the Iranian educational system / With the school life approach

Abstract:

Critical thinking is one of the most fundamental themes of Dewey's school of life and ideas. The present study was conducted with the aim of pathology of critical thinking training in the Iranian educational system.Using simple random sampling method, 140 people were selected in two groups of 70 men and women. The measurement tool of this research is the standard Watson-Glears critical thinking test, which measures the ability of critical thinking through 80 questions in five components of inference skills, identification of inference assumptions, interpretation and evaluation currency. Questionnaire data were analyzed using SPSS 22 program exceptIn the interpretation skill, which was 5% higher in men at the error level of 5% than in women, in the other four skills, women scored higher. The evaluation was 4.14 percent, but in general, the score of critical thinking is not acceptable and at a high level, and it shows that this important thing is lacking in the educational system.
