Barriers and Challenges of Research and Advancement of Scienceand Technology in Health

Today, research is the foundation of progress and sustainable development in all fields, and the most important indicator of development is scientific research and technological capabilities. Therefore, investigating the barriers and challenges of research and identifying solutions for scientific and technological progress in health will improve the health of the entire society and achieve sustainable development.

In this study, data was collected using a qualitative method in four,two-hour group discussion sessions with the presence of 15 professors and experts. Subsequently, the information was completed in Delphi and matched with upstream documents.

Via content analysis of the obtained information, research challenges and solutions were categorized into ninemain axes: fundamental, process, managerial, cultural, human resources, ethics and spirituality, evaluation and monitoring, financial and economic,future  studies and future planning.

The information indicated that cooperation of internal and external organizations, social partnerships, strengthening the research culture and ethics, and the commitment of decision makers and policy makersare needed for scientific and technological growth and development in the field of health.
