Behavioral Problems of Couples: Measuring Behavior and Therapy Steps
One of the aspects of couples’ relationships is the aspect of behavior. In order to explain the role of behavior in couples’ relationships, the present study has presented a pathological view of this important category in the family and psychologically analyzed Islamic sources and psychological texts through a descriptive-analytical method. To solve and treat the couples’ behavioral problems through a three-step process, we firstly studied the pathology of the behavior, and then we measured the behavior from the therapist’s viewpoint in order to prepare the treatment program (protocol). In the final step, the desired three-stage treatment program has been presented. The results showed that the couples’ negative behavior was an important challenge for them and was seriously involved in developing traumatic relationships between couples and then in weakening family and its strength. The findings showed that a three-step therapy program could be used to treat couples’ behavioral problems: (1) a checklist of the couples’ behavioral problems, (2) the therapy goals, and (3) treatment interventions.
