Predicting marital happiness based on spiritual intelligence and cognitive emotional regulation in career women
The aim of this study was to predict marital happiness based on spiritual intelligence and cognitive emotion regulation in career women in Abhar. The method of the present study was correlational. The Marital Happiness Scale, King Spiritual Intelligence Questionnaire and Cognitive Emotion Regulation were used to measure variables. In this study, the statistical population included all women employees in Abhar city offices in 1400. Ahundred people were randomly selected as the sample by stepwise cluster sampling method. Pearson correlation and stepwise regression were used to analyze the data. The results of correlation coefficient showed that there is a positive relationship between existential criticism of thinking, creation of personal significance, transcendent consciousness, expansion of state of consciousness and spiritual intelligence with marital happiness (P <0.01). There is a positive relationship (P <0.05) between marital happiness and acceptance components, refocusing on planning, and positive re-evaluation. There is a negative relationship between marital happiness and the components of self-blame and blame of others (P <0.05). There is a negative relationship between marital happiness and catastrophic component (P <0.01). The results of regression showed that the existential criticism component of thinking and acceptance along with refocusing on planning can explain 30% of the variance of marital happiness. It can be concluded that among the effective variables in promoting marital happiness are spiritual intelligence and cognitive emotion regulation.
