Explaining the factors affecting women's political participation in Iran and the challenges ahead
Political participation can be considered as a basic need for citizens in all political systems. A review of the role of women in the history of contemporary Iran shows how important, sensitive and challenging the issue of their political participation was and is. The main question of this research is: What are the effective factors and challenges in women's political participation? The hypothesis that is raised following the mentioned question: Women's political participation in Iran suffers from cultural, social and psychological obstacles more than it faces political structural obstacles. The obtained results show that some of these barriers and inhibiting factors have been reproduced by women themselves and have led to their political passivity. In addition, it is by increasing political awareness and political decision-making that we can hope to empower women in the field of politics and society. In this regard, strengthening education and awareness can contribute more to women's employment and thus reduce the obstacles to women's political participation. The innovation of this article is in the mutual relationship that it establishes between the factors and obstacles of women's political participation in the field of politics. The research method in this article is a descriptive-analytical method and the sources and documents were collected based on the library method.
