Abstract:
The Middle East region is going through a period of revolutionary changes that challenge the foreign policy of the countries of this region. Despite these changes, the Islamic awakening and the revolution in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya have not been able to change some important aspects of the West Asian region. One of the most important ones that outlines the strategic horizon of West Asia is the rivalry between Iran and Saudi Arabia.The wave of popular protests in 2011 in support of democracy and opposition to the ruling regime known as Islamic awakening has created new concerns for Saudi Arabia and Iran that should be taken into account in the context of regional priorities. In this new environment, there are many opportunities and threats facing both the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia, while both countries are trying to marginalize their competitors by using their soft power components and elements. to drive Now, after several years of the events known as the Islamic awakening, it is possible to draw a clear picture of the efforts of both countries in the direction of using soft power, and in a comparative analysis of their performance,
