Investigation and analysis of the Iran-Turan wars during the time of Keykhosrow With an approach to the theory of just war

One of the main parts of Shahnameh was dealing with the wars between Iran and Turan during the reign of Keykhosrow and Afrasyab. Due to the political power of both countries at that time, many tensions and military confrontations took place, which were accompanied by adverse human and financial consequences. Considering the religious and moral character of Keykhosrow and his tendency towards spiritual and cognitive concepts, his approach to categories related to the kingdom, including war with foreigners, has been formed on the basis of human standards. Accordingly, in the present study, his military actions against the Turanians have been examined with reference to library sources, descriptive-analytical methods and the foundations of the theory of just war in order to explain the superstructure and depth of his intentions to attack Turan. The results of the research show that the purpose and motivation of Keykhosrow from the campaign to Turan and the beginning of the war was to secure personal and group interests and the manifestations of a just and realistic war are evident in it. Also, the Shah's actions in the middle of the war were carried out with the observance of moral laws, the preservation of human dignity, the avoidance of extremist treatment of civilians, and a rational and forgiving approach to prisoners of war. the prominence of human interests and the reform of Turan's political and economic structure at the end of the war indicate the dominance of the rules of just war in this politico-military confrontation.
