Abstract:

Legitimacy is the basis of sovereignty and "usurpation" is the opposite point of legitimacy. Kharijites were the most radical group of Muslims who emerged after Hakimite in the Battle of Safin. They considered the foundations of the legitimacy of the government based on the worldly government to be chosen by Muslims with the non-Qureshi attribute of every Muslim being worthy of leadership based on justice and egalitarianism. With these conditions, from their point of view, the lack of these principles was evident during the Umayyad period. From the point of view of Kharijites, there were no foundations such as seeking justice, equality, and non-Qureshi. This research is about the importance of knowing the opinions of Kharijites about the legitimacy of the government during the Umayyad period. The goal is to achieve the Kharijite idea of government. The method used in this research is descriptive-analytical based on library study and survey.
