The main hypothesis of the present study is that the status conflicts between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia have exacerbated tensions and instability in the Middle East. The findings of this study, which is done using a descriptive-analytical method, show that the main status conflicts of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia in three types of differences due to friction between prestige and natural authority, increasing mismatch between defined roles and base And the material abilities of the actors, and the relationships with third parties have occurred, and each in turn has caused tension and instability in the Middle East security environment. The most important consequence of these status conflicts has been the lack of a collective security system in the Middle East region, and as a result, the possibility of a structural presence with the presence of all countries in the region for political management of existing challenges has been weakened. As a result of this situation, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia have tended to use a strategy of social competition in their prestigious actions in the Middle East, and this in turn has strengthened the threat dynamics.
