Predicting Psychological Distress in Students; The role of Spiritual Vitality and Resilience
Students experience many tensions during their studies, which are accompanied by psychological distress such as anxiety, stress and depression. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the role of spiritual vitality and resilience in predicting psychological distress in students.
The current research was descriptive-correlational. The research population included all undergraduate students of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in the academic year of 2022-2023, and based on the Gujersi and Morgan table, 225 people were selected as a sample by stratified random sampling method; And they responded to the questionnaires of Chirian and Afrooz spiritual vitality (2015), Connor and Davidson resilience (2003), and Kessler et al.'s (2002) psychological distress. In data analysis, Pearson correlation test and multiple linear regression model were used step by step with SPSS version 22 software.
The results showed that the relationship between spiritual vitality (r = -0.493) and resilience (r = -0.567) with psychological distress was negative and significant, and spiritual vitality and resilience together predicted 35.7% of distress changes. They had psychological
