Abstract:

Myths around the world have inherent dialogue and interaction. The concept of creation and the creator of the universe has been one of the most central aspects of mythological trade. In this study, in order to understand the global concept of Pandora and her box, we want to explore the manifestations and symbols of this box as the home of the evil and evil settlement in the context of written Persian folk tales. In these tales, all the places that are somehow related to the element or elements of evil and are the source of the plague, are considered as examples of the Pandora's Box. The tales which studied are Darabnama of Tarsus, Hamzanama and Amirarsalan Namdar. The reason for selecting of tales is the frequency of these places. After investigation, seven locations were considered to be the residence of the evil settlement and the symbol and appearance of the Pandora's box; Such as gardens, wells and basements, chests, fences, castles, domes, crypts, islands, valleys and crevices of rocks, and in the meantime the frequency of castles in these stories is more than other places and in the Darabnama, is more than two other tales. The heroes of the tales are the forces of good to either destroy or imprison evil; so they are all metaphors for "hope," the same "hope" that is mentioned in Pandora's Legend.
