Abstract:
Background and Purpose

More than 95% of the crimes referred to the Greater Tehran Intelligence Police last year were related to theft cases. According to Article 3 of the Crime Prevention Law approved in 2014, determining the contribution of all real and legal roles in the category of crime prevention is the responsibility of the Supreme Crime Prevention Council.MethodThis research is practical in terms of purpose and has been done in a descriptive and analytical way. The statistical population of this research was selected out of 400 theft cases, 384 cases were sampled and examined by experts. Its face and content validity was confirmed by 7 elites and its reliability was obtained by calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.79. In order to analyze the research data, TOPSIS method and MATLAB software were used. Then, with a survey of 40 related experts and elites, the evaluation or prioritization of these strategies in preventing the crime of theft was carried out based on the TOPSIS multi-criteria decision-making method.
