Feasibility of capital punishment in crimesDrugs and psychedelics

AbstractIn Iran's legal system, the death penalty is one of the punishments foreseen by the legislator. One of the crimes for which the punishment has been established is the crimes related to narcotic drugs and psychotropic drugs. The recent world (due to mass production and export) is especially the country. Therefore, various international conventions in this regard have been approved by the countries of the world. The death penalty is the focus of the present article. The role of the death penalty as a deterrent for drug and psychotropic crimes is of particular importance in Iran's legal system as (a system based on jurisprudence and Sharia) the jurisprudential nature of this punishment in the case of the aforementioned crimes. The method of carrying out this research is descriptive. The current research has tried to investigate the feasibility and nature of this punishment in the crimes of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances from the legal and shari'a perspective, and on the other hand, what effect does the application of this punishment have on the aforementioned crimes? Preventing these crimes in the legal system Iran has the present research, relying on legal theories, the historical course of the death penalty in general, the arguments of the supporters and opponents of the death penalty, etc., shows that not only the presence or absence of this punishment in a legal system depends on various issues and requirements. which can be changed from time to time and from place to place, but it is not possible to take a position regarding the deterrence of this punishment in general and absolutely. As a result, in order to achieve a favorable result, this punishment should be considered in the context of drug and psychotropic crimes.
