A Comprehensive Model Of Accounting Research Methodology

The purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive model for research methodology in accounting by Meta-synthesis method. For this purpose, by examining in foreign and Persian databases, search in all researches done in the world and Iran regarding research methodologies in the fields of accounting, management, finance, humanities, social sciences, etc. with a time limitation from 1976 to 2020 . The approach of this research is qualitative and Meta-synthesis. Using the 7-step method presented by Sandlowski and Barroso (2007) through a review of 663 books and articles, a comprehensive model of research methodology (consisting of 168 methods) in accounting is presented. The final model presented in this research enables the researcher to extract the most appropriate method from the model classifications to answer the research questions. This model can be a comprehensive basis for accounting researchers around the world to determine the appropriate research method for their research.
