Abstract:
Probing in Ahl al-Bayt Hadiths reveals several cognitional, moral, social and emotional aspects of “faith” apart from its “ideological” aspect and also shows its potential of incensement. On the other hand, James Fowler’s significant and psychological theory of “stages of faith growth” depicts the essence of “faith growth” in “increasing and enhancement of a collection of cognitional, social, moral and emotional capabilities” during the lifetime. The base of this study is a comparison between the mentioned cognitional theory with the concept of faith increasing in Hadiths. According to hadiths, increasing in faith means “realization, consolidation and enhancement in cognitional, emotional, moral and social indices of faith in human beings”. Fowler also believes that “the orientation of faith growth is towards more progressed levels of cognition, integrity, meaning making and interpersonal relationships”. Although, in his approach human beings lack a proper and complete and absolute exemplary in faith.
