Investigating the mechanisms of effect in art therapy with an emphasis on the approach of painting in people suffering from trauma

The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanisms of the art therapy effect with an emphasis on recognizing the components of emotion and emotion in people suffering from trauma. By reviewing various researches, there are contradictory results about the effectiveness of art therapy, which is caused by the absence of a control group, qualitative reports of the treatment result, and incorrect evaluations. Neuropsychological studies, developmental studies and dissociation syndromes in people suffering from trauma show that the problem of these people is related to the non-verbal mind. As a result, in order to create an effective treatment protocol, without relying on verbal expression and with optimal spending of time and money, it is necessary to focus the treatment direction from non-directive approaches to directive. In the guidance approaches, instead of a holistic view of the subject, it is emphasized to know all the components. Therefore, in the drawing-based approach, it is necessary to know and examine the exact nature of the emotional factor, as well as cognitive actions, to achieve the above goal. This change of view and the consequent change in the treatment method makes the implementation of the treatment out of the monopoly of professional and experienced therapists and becomes accessible to beginner therapists as well.
