Effectiveness of mindfulness Group Therapy on increasing of resilience of the mothers with exceptional children
Considering this fact that an exceptional child brings about main problems including reduced resilience of their parents, especially their mothers, the present study aimed at studying the effectiveness of mindfulness. Group Therapy on increasing the resilience of mothers with exceptional children. The design of this clinical study was pretest-posttest with control group. Participants were 30 mothers with exceptional children who were selected through Convenience method and assigned randomly to experimental and control groups. The subjects in experimental group participated in 8 sessions of mindfulness Group Therapy (a 90 minute session per week). Data was gathered through the resilience scale administered before and after the study treatment. To analyze the data repeated test measurements were used. mindfulness Group Therapy could significantly increase the resilience of mothers with exceptional children in experimental group . Acceptance and Commitment Group Therapy could significantly increase the resilience of mothers with exceptional children
