Abstract:
Purpose

The purpose of this research is to know the political situation of the local kings of Pars state and their degree of independence during the Seleucid rule, as well as their relationship with the Seleucid rule.

Method and Research Design

This research, using historical method and analytical descriptive method, and relying on scattered written works and some archeological data, especially the coins of local kings of this period, tries to answer two questions: First, how far was the state of Pars? Was it under the rule of the Seleucids? And secondly, when this state gained independence, who was the first person who minted coins, and what was the sequence of subsequent kings?

Findings and Conclusion

Numismatic evidence shows that the first Fartreka minted coins in the period of Seleucus I. Also, this evidence changed the sequence of Fartrekas of Pars and introduces Ardashir as the first Fartreka of Pars. Accordingly, the successors after him are Wohubers, Bagdat, and Wadfardad, respectively.
