Using Internet of Things techniques to manage traffic in smart cities
Every year in our beloved country of Iran, we witness various road, rail, air and sea accidents, during which, in addition to financial and environmental damage, irreparable loss of life is also caused to people. One of the causes of accidents is the occurrence of The high volume of traffic is in different directions. "Internet of Things" In recent years, various aspects related to the development and expansion of the Internet and the Web have been involved in the physical realm and the real world of human beings. In this way, the creation and spread of developed and intelligent tools in different spaces with defined identities that are able to sense or have the ability to be stimulated are gradually moving towards becoming a reality in recent years. The goal of the Internet of Things is based on the fact that in the future all physical and digital entities can communicate with each other and share useful information using communication and information technologies and finally create a new type of applications and services. Today, the Internet of Things has wide applications in all areas of human life. On the other hand, smart cities have been developed to make people's lives easier. One of the goals of the development of these cities is to reduce traffic and congestion in urban and interurban areas in order to reduce the number of road accidents. Since one of the biggest challenges for people, drivers and traffic police is creating congestion and traffic on the roads and causing accidents due to this congestion, it is necessary to take measures to reduce this congestion and accidents. Various techniques have been proposed for this purpose. In this research, we will focus on using the Internet of Things to reduce traffic volume in smart cities, and we will examine the various techniques proposed by many researchers .
