Investigating the Effects of the Renaissance and the ReformationOn Dr. Ali Shariati's Thought
The purpose of this study is to study the effects of Renaissance and Reformation on Dr. Ali Shariati's thought. The research method was descriptive-analytical and the results showed that he wanted to be connected to the modern world today and be useful to grow the world of believers; In other words, Shariati sought to erase the color of reaction, backwardness, and ignorance from religious thought. His method was "refining and extracting cultural resources." In the Islamic Renaissance and Protestantism, he made them available to the general public, first by returning to their origins and secondly by grounding and secularizing religious motives and patterns of behavior. Shariati sought to revive a stagnant society through religion by re-reading religious concepts and basic Islamic patterns.
