Effectiveness of storytelling with emphasis on spirituality on reducing shyness and anxiety and increasing academic flexibility in primary school children in Kermanshah

Abstract:
The main purpose of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of storytelling with emphasis on spirituality on reducing shyness and anxiety and increasing academic flexibility in primary school children in Kermanshah. In this study, a quasi-experimental research method with pre-test and post-test design with control group was used. The statistical population of this study is all female students of elementary school in Kermanshah in 1398. The sample of this study included 30 female students with shyness and anxiety criteria. In this study, three standardized Chick-Briggs Shyness Scale (1976), Spence Child Anxiety Questionnaire (2007) and Conner & Davidson (2003) Academic Flexibility Questionnaire were used. Descriptive statistics and analysis methods were used to analyze the statistical data including: frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and inferential statistics including: Multivariate and one-variable analysis of covariance at the level of 0.05 using SPSS software. 23 were used. The results showed that storytelling with emphasis on spirituality was effective in reducing shyness in preschool children and also storytelling with emphasis on spirituality was effective on reducing anxiety in preschool children and also results showed that storytelling with emphasis on spirituality was effective.
