Examining the Faces of Picasso’s Artworks in the Spring-Summer 2016 Viktor&Rolf Fashion Show from the Viewpoint of Historicism and Phenomenology
The Viktor&Rolf brand showcased a collection that was inspired by Picasso’s works during the spring-summer 2016 live fashion show. Through white sculptures (in the form of clothes), the designers of the collection display their knowledge of Picasso’s works. This research aims to get a better understanding of the designed collection of clothes by examining the faces of Picasso’s works and their reproduction in the collection of clothes, from two perspectives of historicism and phenomenology. The second objective is to compare the analysis of these works using two approaches. This research utilizes an analytical, descriptive, and comparative approach to examine the study samples, which are then examined from the perspective of historicism and phenomenology. Finally, after comparing the two analyses, it becomes clear which of these two approaches provides a better analysis of the works, and the analysis with a historical approach helps to better understand and recognize the designed collection.
