Foresight of Spiritual Health Education in Medical Sciences
Dealing with spiritual health along with other aspects of human health in healthrelated professions in medical sciences in personal, professional and organizational dimensions, besides its great benefits, is of special importance in patient interactions. Designing a trajectory for the education of spirituality and spiritual health will help to institutionalize spiritual health. Our aim in this study is to structurally analysis the factors affecting the future of spiritual health education in medical sciences.
Methods and Materials:
Identification of the key factors effective in changing spiritual health education in two stages (semi-structured interview with professors and completion of the questionnaire of final factors) and then the type of influence of these key factors and the final drivers on each other in a paired table analyzed by Mic Mac software.
From the total drivers and key factors extracted from documents and interviews, factors such as patients’ spiritual needs, lack of awareness and knowledge, interdisciplinary training and intervention and teamwork, the difficulty of the issue of spiritual health, the belief of professors, and the empowerment of professors have the greatest impact on The future of spiritual health education is in medical sciences.
Although all the planning and policies are done considering all the spiritual needs of the patients, but the improvement of the level of belief of the professors in the field of spiritual health as the second most important factor along with other factors such as interdisciplinary training and intervention and team work, lack of awareness and knowledge. Courses and empowerment of professors, the difficulty of dealing with spiritual health are factors influencing the future of spiritual health education in medical sciences.
