Causes of Industrial Drug Tendency in the Village of Sast

Drug addiction and abuse, which is a social issue, is a phenomenon in which the ability of society to organize and maintain existing order is altered and transforms the economic, social, political, cultural, even security systems of a society. As it has affected a large number of people and has caused subsequent social damage, combating this phenomenon requires understanding all its dimensions, including economic, social, cultural, and so on. Therefore, the present study aimed to identify the causes of industrial drug tendency in the village of Sast in Esfarayen city. The survey method is used in this study. A researcher-made questionnaire was used for data collection and its reliability was confirmed by Cranach’s test at 0.70. The population of the study was the residents of Sast village. The sample size was 154 people who were determined based on Cochran formula and selected through simple random sampling method. Analysis of research findings using SPSS software and T-test showed that cultural and social factors had an important role in the tendency of Sast villagedwellers to industrial drugs and factors such as individualism and religiosity had no significant relationship with drug tendency.
