Develop a model of cultural capital for education managers
Cultural capital refers to a collection of information, relationships, and privileges that individuals use to maintain or attain a certain social position. This study aims to develop a model of cultural capital for education managers.
This study employed a qualitative approach and utilized the Delphi method. The statistical population consisted of experts knowledgeable in the subject matter. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 13 participants using purposive sampling and the application of theoretical saturation criteria. The data collection tool used in this study was a semi-structured interview with experts. The Delphi technique was employed for data analysis, along with statistical methods and the Kendall agreement coefficient.
Based on the research findings, the cultural capital model of education managers consists of 4 dimensions and 19 components. The four dimensions and their respective components are as follows:Individual dimension (individual identity, skills, tastes, behaviour and practice, value, creativity and innovation, needs)Social dimension (social security, mutual cultural understanding, national self-confidence, commitment to common norms, and recognition of national identity)Organizational dimension (satisfaction, cultural justice in the organization, productivity, participation in the cultural affairs of the organization, and legality)Technology dimension (using the Internet and social networks, and providing the groundwork for technology and technology).
Recognizing the factors that contribute to the improvement and promotion of cultural capital can be achieved through conscious and voluntary efforts, planned across individual, social, organizational, and technological dimensions. This will enable the production of cultural knowledge and alignment, ultimately leading to productive and creative education with a genuine interest. The aforementioned steps have been taken towards achieving sustainable realization.
