The reasons for the spread of extreme Salafism in the Republic of Azerbaijan; with emphasis on cultural, historical and political components

Traditionally, the common Islam among the people on both sides of the Caspian Sea has been a combination of old Iranian and Turkish tribal beliefs and Islamic traditions in the region. Over time, especially after the collapse of the Soviet Union, people's opinions in the Republic of Azerbaijan have been manipulated by political motives. Poverty, instabilities and chaos along with more thirst for religion have provided the fields for the activities of foreign activists in this country. As a result of this intervention, Salafism has emerged in the form of increasing beliefs, rituals and traditions in political, economic and social dimensions in the Republic of Azerbaijan. This research is trying to investigate and analyze the question "What are the causes of the rise and spread of extreme Salafism in the Republic of Azerbaijan?" using a descriptive-analytical method. to pay The results of the research indicate that the competition of regional countries in the Republic of Azerbaijan has affected the religious status of the society of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and these political competitions have had an impact on the cultural output of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including the growth of Salafism. Compared to other countries, Salafism influenced by Turkey is more opposed to the cultural influence of Iran and Shiism in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
