Analysis of the new urbanism with emphasis on the sense of place (Case study: District two of Mashhad metropolitan)

The aim of this study was to assess the new criteria and design features of a city based on the principle of attention to the sense of place in urbanism in the first place, and in the second step to examine the compliance of Mashhad metropolitan area 2 with These are the criteria and prioritization of each of the indicators.

According to the theoretical approaches of this research, the present study is a descriptive-analytical method. in order to collect data and information, in addition to library studies and the use of urban plans, first, to identify research indicators, a questionnaire has been collected. Accordingly, 4 indicators and 9 sub-indicators were identified in this field. Based on the Cochran's formula, 391 questionnaires were distributed among the citizens of District 2 of Mashhad. The research questions were used through SPSS software and one-sample regression and t-tests and the decision model was based on DEMATEL paired scales..

The results of t-test confirm the research hypothesis that the sense of place in the region is average and the linear regression test confirms the relationship of each of the indicators to the sense of place. Among the four regions of region 2, respectively, region two with an average of 3.27, region three with an average of 3.19, region four with an average of 2.91 and region one with an average of 2.83 have suitable conditions for improving the sense of place.
