Hospital Preparedness for Emergency Response in Iran
Hospitals are complex and potentially vulnerable institutions, which requires urgent attention in the circumstances of the accident. Accidental accountability is actually damaged by helping or intervening during or immediately after death in order to preserve life and the minimum and basic needs of the people. This study aimed to hospital preparedness for emergency response in Iran.
This study was performed by using structural equation modeling in hospitals. The study population included 200 people of all hospital personnel. Data collection was done by Hospital Disaster Preparedness Self-Assessment Tool (command and control, communication, safety and security, triage, capacity building, sustainability of vital and basic services, human resources, support and logistics management, post-accident recovery and medical emergencies, program Hospital Emergency Response for various types of incidents, Hedging and Crisis Management, Hospital Emergency Response and Capacity Response Scenarios, Hospital Emergency Response and Emergency Response Scenario). Validity was measured by content validity and reliability of the questionnaire by Cronbach's alpha (r = 92%). Using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, were identified the factors affecting hospital preparedness for emergency response in Iran. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 18 and LISREL 8.8 software
The average emergency response rate for hospitals in Kermanshah in case of accidents and disasters was 2.87. The highest responsiveness among the components studied was related to communications with an average of 3.21, and the worst response status for the congestion management program in accidents and crises was estimated at 2.54.
The average response rate of the hospitals was evaluated at the medium level. It is essential that planning and providing a chartered account and its implementation for dealing with accidents and disasters in all hospitals is essential. It should also not be forgotten about the role of hospitals in providing incident service, prioritizing programs and budgets.
