The Impact of Social Media on Political Participation of Seminary Students in Qom

The primary objective of this research is to investigate the relationship between the use of social media and the political participation of seminary students in Qom. The data collection tool was a questionnaire, and the research method employed was survey-based. Using Morgan's table, a sample size of 322 individuals was selected from a population of 2000 seminary students. The research findings indicate a noticeable correlation between the political participation of students and their utilization of social media. Furthermore, a significant and meaningful relationship was observed between the extent of political participation and trust in the intended use of social media, education level, and age. The use of social media has provided an appropriate platform for the dissemination and expansion of political awareness among seminary students, contributing to the development of activities and the empowerment of their political influence. Among the research variables, the most significant impact was related to the extent of using new social media, while the least impact was associated with the variable of education.
