Influential factors in improving the safety culture of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran

The main objective of the research is to explain the influencing factors in improving the safety culture of the Army Ground Forces.

According to the nature of the subject, the type of research is applied and the research method is descriptive. Data collection has been done by field and library methods and by using documents. The measurement tool for safety culture promotion is a 15-item questionnaire of Dorji et al.'s model with three components: commitment, vigilance (care) and learning. The reliability coefficients of this questionnaire for commitment, vigilance (caring), and learning are equal to 0.81, 0.85 and 0.82, respectively, and the statistical population of the research includes 200 employees of the army ground force.

Quantitative analysis (chi-square test) at the error level of five percent (0.05) showed that commitment, vigilance (care) and lesson-learning will improve the safety culture in the Army Ground Forces.

The commitment of management in two dimensions: first, the allocation of financial and human resources, training, the use of new methods or even changing the rotation of suitable jobs, and second, the presence of commitment in the commander can lead to the improvement of the safety culture of the organization under his leadership.
