Socio-economic Factors Affecting the Traffic Law Breakers of Ardabil City
Driving absconds refers to disobedience of traffic rules, traffic police orders, and challenges with driving regulations. The main purpose of the research is to study the socio-economic reasons for the tendency toward lawless behavior of drivers in Ardabil city.
The present research method is a quantitative-survey type and its tool is a semi-standard questionnaire. The sample size was determined using Cochran's formula of 384 people and randomly distributed among the study group. The validity and reliability of the research has been verified from the theoretical and experimental aspects, and descriptive and inferential statistical tests with SPSS25 software have been used to analyze the findings.
The results show - social-class gap (0.428); socio-economic injustice (0.240); economic anomie (0.331); relative deprivation (0.472); life satisfaction (-0.336); There is a significant relationship between police control and supervision (0.322) and religiosity (r=-0.462) with the tendency to avoid illegal driving. Also, the multiple correlation coefficients were equal to 0.250 and the adjusted coefficient of determination was equal to 0.184.
Based on the empirical findings, with the increase of socio-economic gaps, the feeling of injustice, the decrease in the quality and satisfaction of citizens' lives, the level of compliance with the law, norm and traffic order among drivers has decreased and the behavior of drivers is influenced by the socio-economic atmosphere of the society.
