The Relationship between Psychological Self-care and Resilience and Creativity in response to Covid-19 in Women: Mediating Role of Lifestyle
The spread of the Covid-19 and the resulting long-term quarantines has changed the lifestyle of a wide range of people and the pushed all of humanity towards self-care. Therefore, the purpose of the current study was to investigate the relationship between psychological self-care and resilience and creativity in response to Covid-19 with the mediating role of lifestyle in women.
This was a descriptive and correlational study. The study population included all the housewives in Kermanshah city in 2022, of which 363 women were selected through convenience sampling method. The resilience scale by Connor-Davidson (2003), lifestyle questionnaire by Laali et al. (2012), the test of creative thinking by Torrance (1966), and the self-care questionnaire by Boroujeni et al. (2020) were used to collect data. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling and 2 statistical softwares which were SPSS-22 and Smart PLS.
The results showed a direct relationship between psychological self-care and resilience and creativity in response to Covid-19 disease in women (β=0.237, p<0.05). The lifestyle variable also played a mediating role in the relationship among them (Sobel=4.635, Sig<0.001).
It can be claimed that resilience and creativity along with lifestyle play an important role in women’s psychological self-care in response to Covid-19. Therefore, the mental health professionals should pay more attention to improve the mental health during the pandemics.
