Potential Impacts and Outcomes of Cyberspace in the field of Social Isaar
Cyberspace, a domain that meaningfully impacts on human lifestyle, can change a society's thoughts and perceptions of moral values, including social self-sacrifice (the Quranic eisar). This is one of the moral and social values in Islam, which has been addressed in several verses and hadiths. It means to prioritize the other over oneself when it comes to making profit or avoiding harm and loss. Considering today’s status of self-sacrifice in both religion and cyberspace, it is necessary to study and identify the impacts and outcomes of cyberspace in the field of this Islamic value. In our descriptive-analytical study, six cyberspace effects on social self-sacrifice have been identified and studied, including two positive, one negative, and three conditional or double ones. These effects are fully stated in the summary of the article. Identifying the impacts and outcomes is the preliminary step in cyberspace policy-making and providing an impact assessment for its being focused on self-sacrifice, because here, policies and solutions for reducing (or eliminating) the negative effects and solutions for strengthening the positive effects are presented. At the end of the article, two suggestions have been made: 1- Providing an impact assessment for cyberspace focusing on values, including self-sacrifice; 2- Monitoring the evolution of values in cyberspace and introducing the responsible organizations in different stages of monitoring.
