the effect of education on schema in elementary students math problem solving skills of second grade elementary students
The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of schema-based education on story problem solving skills of second graders. The research was semi-experimental with a pre-test/post-test design and a control group. The statistical population of the study was the second-grade elementary students of Chahshak Shandiz village studying in the academic year 1399-1400. Sampling Method was a two-stage random cluster method and the sample size was 50 students, from which two groups of 25 students were randomly selected as experimental and control groups. The experimental group received twenty sessions of schema-based training and the control group did not receive this method. The research instruments were children's color ion intelligence test, revised version (1956) and researcher-made test of problem-solving questions. Analysis of covariance was used to analyze the results. According to the research results, schema-based education has improved the ability to solve story problems, with an effect size of 0.67 in second grade elementary students with a significant level (P≤0.001). According to the research findings, second grade elementary teachers can use this method to improve arithmetic problem solving skills.
