The Effectiveness of Non-Violent Communication on Parent-Child Conflicts and Parental Competence, Parents of First Secondary Students in Hashtgerd City

The purpose of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of non-violent communication on parent-child conflicts and parental competence of parents of secondary school students. The method of this research was semi-experimental with a pre-test, post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of this research includes the parents of the first year high school students of Hashtgerd city in the academic year 1402-1401, who were selected by the random cluster sampling method and completely randomly divided into two intervention groups (15 people) and The control (15 people) was placed. The participants of the intervention group received the non-violent communication skill training program in ten sessions of 60 minutes and two days a week, and the control group did not receive any intervention. The data obtained from this research were analyzed at two descriptive and inferential levels using SPSS.25 software. The findings of this study confirm the acceptability of the theoretical topics presented in this field. The results of the research showed that non-violent communication training has a significant effect on parent-child conflicts and parenting competence of parents of first year high school students (P<0.05). And having fruitful communication skills and following it, acquiring these skills is necessary to have a successful performance in life.
