Tragedy and the Sociological Conflict of Modern Man
Tragedy as one of the dramatic forms has its roots in the Greek rituals, and its origin goes back to Dithyramb hymns. These passionate songs turned into monologues in the 6th century B.C. by Thespis. Later Aeschylus entered the second character and created the possibility of dialogue and Sophocles later entered the third character and laid the foundation of the “plot” which means intrigue and conspiracy. Therefore, we notice that from the early stages of development of this dramatic genre, the element of contrast, conflict, struggle, and human suffering which led to human death had a decisive role. The purpose of the researcher is to make a brief analysis of Friedrich Hegel, Georg Lukacs, and Henrik Edoyan’s views on tragedy and the nature of the struggle and to answer this question Is tragedy possible for Modern Man or not?
