The Effect of the amount of ethylene glycol Chain extender on the Chemorheology of HTPB based polyurethane
Polyurethanes are composed of diisocyanates and polyols and may include various chain extenders. Choosing the type of chain extenders has a significant effect on the properties of this elas tomer. In this article, an ethylene glycol chain extender in three different mass percent compositions was added to the formulation of this elas tomer. Addition of chain extender in different amounts, changes in viscosity build up time were measured by Brookfield viscometer, which records the process of changes in viscosity over time. The results of the inves tigation showed that the addition of the chain extender causes significant changes in the rheological properties and the process of increasing the viscosity of the polymer binder sys tem, and the increase in the amount of the chain extender in the percentage composition will cause the rapid growth of the reaction and increase the chain, and finally increase the viscosity of the polyurethane.
