A Qualitative Study of the Consequences of the Continuation of Socio-Cultural Barriers of Underdevelopment in the East of Hormozgan Province

The present research was conducted with the aim ofinvestigating the consequences of cultural-social barriers ofunderdevelopment in the east of Hormozgan province.

The method of the present researchwas qualitative and was carried out with the technique ofqualitative content analysis. The participants of the qualitativepart were all managers and executive elites of supportinginstitutions, including the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee(RA) and the Welfare Organization, and scientific experts(including university professors and researchers) as well aslocal influential people in the east of Hormozgan province,which was conducted through snowball sampling after 17interviews. The researcher reached data saturation. The datacollection tool was a semi-structured interview. The method ofdata analysis was open, central and selective triple coding.

The results showed that some of the consequencesof the continuation of socio-cultural barriers ofunderdevelopment are; The development of the culture ofpoverty, the lack of a comprehensive comprehensivedevelopment plan, the lack of sustainable regionaldevelopment, ineffectiveness and the lack of appropriate andtargeted services, the institutionalization of the culture ofdependence, the lack of a risk-taking culture, the lack of selfconfidence and pragmatic culture.

Therefore, it can be seen that one of the maincauses of institutional underdevelopment is the lack ofcomprehensive development programs based on real needsassessment. In the studied society, most of the financial andsexual assistance is provided to the applicants.
