Abstract:
Background and purpose

From a sociological point of view, social security is the cornerstone of a healthy society and is of great importance. On the one hand, Kermanshah province can potentially suffer from social insecurity due to its location on the western border and neighboring with the unstable country of Iraq. On the other hand, a large amount of crimes, evils, addictions and many other injuries and social issues have caused damage to social security. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to answer the question of what is the state of feeling of social security among the citizens of the cities of Kermanshah province and what factors affect their feeling of social security.

Method

The method of this research is a survey; The data collection technique is a questionnaire and its sampling method is PPS. The statistical population of this research is all citizens over 18 years of age in the cities of the province, which is selected as a sample according to the population of each city. For data analysis, statistical software program Spss version 25 was used. In the descriptive statistics section to describe the data, from the central and dispersion indices, and in the inferential statistics section to reject and confirm the hypotheses according to the measurement level of the variables, from Pearson, Spearman correlation statistics, one-way analysis of variance and The t-test of two independent groups was used.

Findings

The findings of the research showed that the variables of age and education had no significant relationship with the feeling of social security, but the relationship of the variables of gender, occupation, city of residence and public attitude towards the police was confirmed with the feeling of social security.

Conclusion

In the final summary, it can be said that the police play a central role in providing people with a sense of social security. Obviously, the better the police perform this role, the people of a society will have a better attitude towards the police, and this better attitude will reproduce the feeling of social security, so a cycle is formed in a reciprocal relationship. They benefit each other.
