Assessment of the Technical Knowledge of Coaches for Sports Students in Guilan Province

Sport is one of the issues that is discussed in different titles around the world and a large group of people deal with it in various forms. The aim of this study was to Assessment of the Technical Knowledge of Coaches for Sports Students in Guilan Province. This research is quantitative and descriptive-survey. The statistical population of the present study consisted of active sports coaches of sports clubs in Guilan province and statistical samples were determined in clusters and participated in completing the study. The research data collection tool is a questionnaire which consists of two parts: in the first part, the demographic characteristics of the instructors and in the second part, the technical knowledge of the instructors towards their students. Descriptive and inferential statistical methods have been used to analyze the research data. The results showed that the technical knowledge of sports coaches in Guilan province towards sports students in the areas of scientific and basic education (t = 4.47 and α = 0.05), exercise targeting (t = 4.32 and α = 0.05), facilitation of learning process (t = 4.11 and α = 0.05), induction of healthy competition spirit (t = 3.65 and α = 0.05), improvement of sports skills (t = 3.52 and α = 0.05), and first aid (t = 3.28 and α = 0.05), have been evaluated as appropriate and there is no significant difference between the technical knowledge of male and female sports coaches in Guilan province compared to sports students. It is suggested that sports coaches take an active part in knowledge-enhancing courses, conferences, congresses, and refresher courses to develop their technical knowledge and increase their coaching knowledge for students.
