Title: Arrangement of government textual Records based on international archival standards
The aim of this research is to establish a framework for arranging government textual records based on international archival standards.
Method and Research Design:
The research methodology is practical and descriptive. It involves a comparative study between the ISAD-G (ICA, 2011) as the foundational standard and several other standards including Record in Context: A Conceptual Model for Archival Description (ICA, 2016), DACS: Describing Archives - A Content Standard (American Association of Archivists, 2013), MAD3: Manual of Archival Description (Procter & Cook, 2016), and RAD: Rules of Archival Description (Association of Canadian Archivists, 2008).
The study is founded on the Principle of Respect des Fonds and the hierarchical relationships of the arrangement levels. Factors such as the nature of documents, creator or provenance, language, organizational function, type and form of material, and content characteristics (topic, date, geography) are taken into account as criteria for grouping disorderly records or records with lost original order. Examples are provided to illustrate each level of arrangement. [1] .
