Comparison of Modern Human Rights Principles with the Principles and Rules Governing Punishments in Islam
By observing the growth of human rights and the emergence of numerous branches in this field, we realize that the focus on human rights is not limited to domestic law but extends to the international sphere. However, the attention to human rights in its specific sense makes the individual not only a subject and object of international concern but also a subject of international criminal law, albeit with a century of difference. All these advancements in criminal law were made to protect the individual, even when they were subjected to punishment by international laws.
