The effect of biology education by Lesson Study method on students' scores increase (A case study of high school students in Tehran)

Abstract:

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of teaching by lesson study method of teachers on increasing students' grades in biology topics of experimental sciences. The statistical sample of this study is 128 female students in the eighth grade of school who were divided into two groups of experiments (teaching by lesson study method) and control (teaching by traditional method). To achieve this goal, a research tool including a researcher's academic achievement test has been developed. The validity of the academic achievement test was confirmed by teachers and professors of educational sciences and experts in biology. And its reliability was calculated based on Cronbach's alpha and was performed as posttest on two groups of students. In this study, descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used to analyze the data using SPSS software. The results showed that teaching by lesson study of teachers increase students' grades in the biology topics of the experimental science course.
