Considerations and requirements of the media policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the horizon of 1414 with a strategic foresight approach

Goal: 

The Media is considered as significant gateway between the government and the public by virtue of some vital criteria like “Management of the Public Opinion”, “Soft Power” and robust impediment of enemies’ penetration in the targeted context. Accordingly, the current research aims to shed light on the Strategic foresight in the media policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran based on a top-down approach within the next 14 years, i.e. up to 2035.

“Expert Panel” has been exploited in the current research to extract the key driver forces in order to conceptualize a “Native Model” for Strategic foresight in the media policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. To achieve the aforementioned goal, the expert panel has been planned and propelled based on a group of 20 experienced experts in this respect. 

the findings of this research based on the expert panels demonstrated 6 fundamental fields which should be taken into account to structuralize, interpolate and prioritize them in the media policy: 1. The management of the content and ICT,2. The audiences’ preferences and the beneficiary groups, 3. Programming, 4.the state-of-the-art management of the media, 5. Competitive environment of the media based on continuous environmental scanning, 6. Administration of human resources and financial capitals. Therefore, the implementation of whole of these key driver forces through a convergent approach; needs Strategic foresight to avoid biased approaches in the media, censorship and finally lay the groundwork for objectification of the Iranian civilization to intensify Iranian’s identity.

the results of the existing survey have led to the creation of a conceptual indigenous model through the key driver forces for the Strategic foresight in the media policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran based on the panel of experts to illustrate it for 2035.
