The mediating role of job boredom in the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and psychological well-being in the workplace
The current research aimed to investigate the mediating role of job boredom in the relationship between primary maladaptive schemas and psychological well-being in the workplace. The method of descriptive correlational research was structural equation modeling. The statistical population included all the employees of Tehran municipality in 2022, based on the table of Karjesi and Morgan, 220 people were selected through the available sampling method. The tools of this research included Yang et al. 's primary maladaptive schemas questionnaire (YSQ-SF) (2003), Rijsiger et al. 's work environment boredom scale (DUBC) (2012), and Riff's psychological well-being (RSPWB) (1995). Data analysis was done using structural equation modeling. The results of the structural equation modeling analysis indicated that the model fit in well. The findings showed that initial incompatible schemas had a negative and significant effect on psychological well-being, and initial incompatible schemas had a positive and significant effect on job boredom (p<0.01). Also, the effect of initially incompatible schemas due to job boredom on psychological well-being was positive and significant (p<0.01). From the findings, it can be concluded that initially incompatible schemas and job boredom play a key role in predicting the psychological well-being of employees, and it seems necessary for counseling centers to pay more attention to these variables to improve the performance of the organization's employees.
