Abstract:

As one of the most important cultural and ritual symbols, the tree plays a prominent role in human perception of existence. This research has been written with the knowledge and use of Francesco Desanctis's point of view, about the fictional image and the real thing. Based on this point of view, representation based on interpretation in mental images has been investigated in two literary works, shrine of Agha by Nima Yoshij and the time of shadows written by Mahmoud Falaki. The present descriptive and analytical research method shows that the images contained in these two works are changed in a dual process in a natural and compatible with reality by passing from their material and objective scope to the abstract concept. In shrine of Agha, Tree is changed from a central concept in a realistic narrative to an abstract concept and an ideal of a profit-seeking individual to reassure people. In the time of shadows, the tree is reflected at the beginning with a symbolic, mythological concept, but at the end of the novel, with the dominance of technology and the modern world, it changes from abstract aspects to superstition to the destruction of the image.
